All My Time Here
02:59
|
|||
All of my time here I’ve been trying to find the good life.
An elusive being, evading my every step.
I look to the sky for answers but I only see the stars, extending my longing.
“Why here, why there, why anywhere?
My joke turns into a sad truth as I look towards the ground under my feet
The only thing keeping me afloat.
Won’t you try and tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Won’t you try and tell me a way to make this right?
I’ve been singing the same old song,
And going to sleep alone at night.
All of my time here
Ive kept my wheels spinning
Ive said from the beginning
I’m gonna make it work
So I bundled my belongings
And I packed a broken picture
Of carrying my tradition of being alone
I tripped up for a minute When I came across old love
I continued on in silence, Watching the stars above
Letting my head wander Till my heart tells me no
All of my time here, I’ve let myself wonder, I’ve torn some dreams asunder, and turned my back again.
Recalling my old friendships, they’re not the same. I know it’s
A treasured memory where I feel I will belong.
And I’m on my way back to the people I call home.
On my way back to the people I call home.

Carolina

Don’t wait for me, Carolina, can’t you see I’m shying away from you again.
Cause I’m lost in thoughts of nothing, and you
Look down at your feet you see me staring at the rain fall to the ground;
We’re both looking to be found.
We’ll stay up late til the other goes asleep, tossing sideways hoping, waiting for our phones to beep.
The Vermont moon smiles down upon us, dear, as we try to tell each other “I’d be anywhere but here.”
You walk away, through contradiction, passing stop signs, you’re not listening again.
Won’t you try and understand, I’ve got a
Bottle we could use it, just as long as we abuse it for a while,
I’m just looking for a smile.
We’ll stay up late til the other goes asleep, tossing sideways hoping, waiting for our phones to beep.
The Vermont moon smiles down upon us, dear, as we try to tell each other “I’d be anywhere but here.”

Backup Plan
03:59
|
|||
It’s like I’ve built you up, just to bring me down.
I lean in for a kiss, and you turn around.
Stuck beside the road, nowhere planned to go.
Looking for a home. Only where to, though?
Atop a fallen star, crashed into our world.
The lights are going dark, just another girl.
You’ve got to take control, you’ve got to grab a hold.
You’ve got to be the warm, and forget the cold. ¬¬¬
Going nowhere fast, I’ll find something to last.
We come and go in waves, you know you’ve overstayed?
Let’s finish this somehow, no better time than now.
Don’t stay amongst your kind, but always take your time.

Sore Winner
03:13
|

You know there’s a park down by the river
Near that place we used to be
Yea the trails we would go walking on, in the time when we felt free.
But we left that town, didn’t turn around. Yea, I’ll never be the same.
Took a drink, after a shower, all the girls are here in an hour
“Let’s all hope to get just what we want”
Stay away from there, Virginia, those kid’sll eat your soul for dinner
“I never said that I was one to trust.”
Maybe take, a look in the mirror, maybe then we’ll see a little clearer to
Stop
Let’s lose our minds, one at a time.
I could sure use some change.
Take a break from fallin’ sideways, you can rest your head on me.
If we all just knew our limits, it’d be easier to see.
I crossed that line, about a dozen times.
I’m just looking for somewhere safe.
Try and find, a date for dinner, you’ve never met a sorer winner.
I just want the ones, I found, that don’t want me.
Save some face, but pick up quickly; always have the most fun don’t we?
Let’s just lose some conscious one more time.
Maybe take, a look in the mirror, maybe then we’ll see a little clearer to
Stop
This is the end, fallen again.
Like an angel, I’ll take the plunge.
