The days go by - while nights, they lie. Say, "it's not late," and stay another hour.
The fog is quick, and falls so quick - it drowns the light, the beauty of a flower.
Carry on the way.
A handful of daylight, heavy on the wave.
And with the song of dawn, the world returns.
And so we'll go our way, the whole time with assurance I will stay.
Just know, I'm done - another day we'll chase the setting sun.
To find a home, you've got to go alone - hop into the side-car of a train.
Brave the heat and the winter sleet, the time between will wash upon the shore.
Shine on tonight.
Wind-blown, dancing in the pale moonlight.
It's just one more step - learn to fly tonight.
And so we'll go our way, the whole time with assurance I will stay.
Just know, I'm done - another day we'll chase the setting sun.

I Cannot Stand

I cannot stand because I'm falling over you.
Forgotten hands, and I've had more than a few.
Look the other way. I'm so tired now - I'll be home soon.
I'm a long way from the town where I was born.
I walked away in shame, as I left in the early morn.
I shut my mouth to say, "I'm so sick of what I'm supposed to be."
Forget today, because it follows wherever I go.
But don't go away. Though, it's selfish of me, I'm sure.
I'll be waiting here with a heavy heart afraid of promises.

Someday

Far away, like a daisy trying to grow right on your doorstep, I will be here just waiting in the clear, for you to come again someday.
Spring is here and the loneliness of winter has blown passed me.
No longer a leaf, weighed down with constant grief, but these bitter winds will cease to howl.
Going away, it's time, and I swear my friends I'll miss you dearly.
Promise I'll answer when you call, if I'm not busy at all.
And I will come again someday.
Fall again, and I just don't seem to know what I'm doing.
Please make me believe, even though I have to leave, in all these things that make me run.
College seems to be the stuff of teenage dreams.
Looking back on then, I would do it all again, and I'd not regret a single thing.
Going away, it's time, and I swear my friends I'll miss you dearly.
Promise I'll answer when you call, if I'm not busy at all.
And I will come again someday.

As I looked up on the hill there was a tree so tall I could see from the branches everything.
Come away with me tonight. We'll find some meaning in the dark corridors of our wants.
With a look to the west it seems everyone is staring at you.
Those poor fools are wrong.
They're just looking for some place to hide.
Of late it seems the times have changed, with our new ways of soft reminisce - a broken promise on my lips.
The doors are opening in my mind.
I am no longer restricted to the error of your ways.
It's hard to explain this constant urge to escape.
We were meant for the road.
The tremble resides in my heart.
